ARTIST STATEMENT
For personal projects, I like to explore the misfit between characters and the space they inhabit. Worlds that seem perfect, but command too high of a price from those who inhabit it. Stories of struggle and confusion matched with perseverance and friendship laid out over an unforgiving landscape.
But creative assignments don’t need to be dark, deep, or even challenging. Recently, someone was complaining about directing a mayonnaise commercial. In defense of mayonnaise, this superhero of condiments deserves the love. I could tell a great story about mayonnaise.
